Don’t Hate Her Because She’s Goopy
I like Gwyneth Paltrow. And I think her cookbooks are fantastic. I’ve still got “My Father’s Daughter” in heavy rotation. Which is why I was especially pleased to see that on goop.com, they are selling signed copies of the book. I ordered several for my Gifty McGifty gift closet.
A few of my favorite recipes from the first book:
The Fish Stew
A quick and easy version of bouillabaisse that is really delicious. I make this a lot when we go to our friends’ country house. I’ve made it so often you can see the stains on the page.
The Hot Nicoise salad
As GP describes it, she made this recipe up on a cold London day. It is a great winter salad and we make it all the time.
The Vietnamese Prawn Sandwich
Mr. McGifty loves a good bahn-mi. This, he says, is a very acceptable substitute.
