This summer, we had a fun dinner party for Bastille Day. And our friend Rachel B. (who writes the lovely blog, The Rachel Papers), brought us this: a cookbook signed by the author. The book was “Little Paris Kitchen” and it was signed by Rachel Khoo. I loved this gift from the moment I opened it and knew that I’d cook from it all winter long. The mini-wellingtons on page 196 are already one of my go-to recipes. In fact, I’ll be making them for my parents tonight.

A signed book is a great, thoughtful, unique, not expensive gift. I’ll be sure to update this post with great resources for finding out when and where authors are signing in your area. And please feel free to share any great signed book stories/resources in the comments section.

The signed book… Such a lovely surprise.

The Mini Veal Wellingtons recipe.  I make it with beef and it is easy and delicious.  Dufour pastry makes it easy and flawless.
