For the Brooklyn Girls in Your Life
The Brooklyn girl in me is always a sucker for some big door knocker earrings.
I can’t take this pair of hoops off and the price is so right at $70.
They are brass with gold plating and made in Turkey.
This summer I purchased six copies of Lilliam Rivera’s debut young adult novel, The Education of Margot Sanchez, and not all of them were for teens.
I loved reading about her main character in this book that’s been called “Pretty in Pink in the Bronx.”
I met Jess Kimball at a Super Bowl party. I don’t remember who was playing (Tom Brady?) or who won (Tom Brady?)
But I do remember standing in the stairwell of Faith Popcorn’s beautiful home, laughing and talking to Jess as people squeezed by. I can’t wait to read her new book, which has the best title, I Love My Computer Because My Friends Live In It. Which is kind of how I feel every time I get a lovely email from one of you about this newsletter.
