Am I the only person who loves to read cookbooks? Okay, let me not be coy, am I the only person who wishes she could live inside my favorite cookbooks?  I used to love coffee table design books, but after awhile, they eventually left me cold.  Sure, the homes looked amazing, but I always want to know: who’s coming over and what are we going to eat?

I’m a dinner party girl and every time I crack open a cookbook, I can imagine the meals I will make and the friends who will gather around our table — hopefully until it is way too late and even though we are stuffed, we are still drinking wine and playing DJ with our iPhones.

Here are a few new favorite cookbooks as well as some recents that are still beloved… They are:

Better on Toast by Jill Donenfeld

Cooking for Jeffrey by Ina Garten

Modern Potluck: Beautiful Food to Share by Kristin Donnelly

Cúrate: Authentic Spanish Food from an American Kitchen by Katie Button and the amazing Genevieve Ko

Koreatown: A Cookbook by Deuki Hong and Matt Rodbard

Red Rooster: The Story of Food and Hustle in Harlem by Marcus Samuelsson

Small Victories: Recipes, Advice + Hundreds of Ideas for Home Cooking Triumphs  by Julia Turshen

What Katie Ate on the Weekend by Katie Quinn Davies
